Orchestral Music "Arirang"
Classic and model Korean orchestral music "Arirang" was created by former contrabass player of the Mansudae Art Troupe Choe Song Hwan. The orchestral music gives an artistic depiction of the beautiful spiritual world of the Korean people well known for their industry and determination. Unique in this work is rich, soft and elegant music of stringed and woodwind instrumental pieces which are oriented to the dramatic representation of the distressed mood of the Koreans under the Japanese rule. Woodwind instrumental pieces have been put into good use in this orchestral music. The prelude and development of the orchestral music are characterized by doleful and pathetic music by jottae (저대, 대금 Korean flute).
